New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries
This week we have a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries on March 29 at 6:58 am EDT (find your time here).
Typically an Aries New Moon is all about springing to life and taking action. Aries energy bursts upon the scene with a roar of flames that is not easily extinguished. But this New Moon arrives with a gentler vibe of Spring’s slow unfurling, encouraging us to indeed take action, but to not get caught up in it.
With the Moon in fiery Aries, now is the time to stand up and lead - through voice, action, or leading by example. It’s time to own your power, however that looks for you. Maybe you stop looking elsewhere for permission and give yourself the permission you’ve always wanted to sign up for that class or take that vacation. Or you decide to act despite your fear, speak up, and voice your needs. This Moon will help highlight where you need to take more assertive action.
Aries energy loves fresh starts, new beginnings, and tackling new projects. Because of this it is likely you’ll feel inspired with this New Moon, wanted to start something new. But remember, that because Mercury and Venus are retrograde (and they are personal plants so they impact us more), anything we do begin now may have a slower start. That doesn’t mean it won’t bloom, it just make take longer than we’d like (impatience is also an Aries energy quality).
This eclipse occurs at 9 degrees of Aries, which is important to note because both Venus and Mercury are currently retrograde and will be moving across 9 degrees of Aries on April 25 (Mercury) and May 13 (Venus). That means whatever comes up for you on and around this eclipse, you’ll be revisiting around April 25 and May 13.
Also with this New Moon eclipse chart, we have a sextile to Pluto, which means emotions are running high. Add in that the Moon and Sun are both in Aries, which can be a very passionate energy in itself, and we may have to watch for conflicts and folks tossing their emotions at everyone around them, rather than dealing with their feelings themselves.
Because this is an eclipse, change is afoot. This eclipse in Aries ends a series of eclipses on this Aries/Libra axis that has been happening over the past two years. These eclipses are ushering in fire, willpower, interdependence, and balance. An eclipse along this Aries/Libra axis asks us to stand and fight for what we believe in, to use our voices, and defend those who cannot defend themselves.
Some questions to ask yourself on this New Moon:
- How do you tend to your creative fire?
- Do you step up as a leader?
- Does your anger ever get the best of you?
